Google Rank and SEO
I've been reading about Google Rank and SEO - how to make your website the easy for organic search engines like google to index and easy for users to navigate. Here's a list of techniques to please search engines and the humans:
- Search Engines (web crawlers, spiders, web bots)
- Keywords: A good start is determining your site's relevant keywords, using this Keyword Suggestion Tool and by visiting other popular sites with your theme. I like to catalog all keywords each page should contain.
- People (human users)
- Common Techniques (useful to humans and search engines)
- Creating or adding / editing new content every 15 days, for each site maintained. What is important is that your web pages have original content. New pages should have at least three hyperlinks to your other webpages at the same site.
- Offering a new-to-your-site useful service or resource is the best way to get free backlinks, according to Matt Cutts, SEO SPAM worker at Google.
- Creating and maintaining site map(s). One for Google Sitemaps in XML form and one for your visitors.
Useful service(s) and resource(s) include respectable outgoing links. Respectable outgoing links: A dmoz.org page, a directory.google.com page, a wikipedia.org page, another well-known web page on your site's theme.
